In today’s world, many Voluntary Welfare Organizations (VWOs) are facing with common problems which threaten their sustainability. (E.g. low volunteer retention rates, obsolete fund-raising ideas and insufficient IT knowledge). How to attract sufficient resources for VWOs sustainability becomes more and more important.

This international online essay writing competition is organized by AIESEC in Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, in partnership with SSTI, the Social Service Training Institute in Singapore. It aims to consolidate refreshing ideas and possible solutions from both local and overseas youth aged between 16 and 25 years old.  This mutually beneficial collaboration aims to expose youth to the challenges in the social service sector, whilst the Voluntary Welfare Organizations (VWOs) stand to benefit from their new and perhaps innovative ideas.

Cash prizes will be given to the top three essays. Trophies will be given to the winners and the wining essays may be showcased by AIESEC in NTU and SSTI through their media respectively.Winners will be notified by October 2008 through email. Winners’ names will be posted online at www.aiesecntu.org . All winners will need to provide documentations as proof of their date of birth.
